Experience: 5-7 years
For this position, we require:
- Excellent writing, editing and research skills, with an understanding of how SEO and backlinking of content works.
- Understanding of Google Analytics and Wordpress.
- A good eye for detail, with excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation skills.
- Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with contributors and writers.
- Good organizational skills to collate material from multiple sources and produce web content within tight deadlines.
- Passion for business, startups, and entrepreneurs of Pakistan.
- An entrepreneurial attitude towards work.
- 5-7 years of experience in managing a news room and reporters
Content Development & Collaboration
Being the editor, you will work with contributors, writers, and researchers. You will prepare a content strategy and content calendar which will be designed to reach the monthly set milestones of page views, reach and content.
Sometimes, you will also write breaking news, features and other material yourself. But mostly, your role will involve checking content for accuracy and ensuring that it complies with journalism standards. You’ll edit the copy to make it easy to read on a website page with no grammatical mistakes.
Throughout the day, you will stay in contact with contributors to find out if material needs to be updated, and you will encourage contributors to supply new content to keep the website fresh for returning visitors.
