Looking for 2 part time student interns specifically from MS Data Science and MS Business Analytics programs
Looking for student interns / full time interns with following skills. Candidates who are able to learn quickly and perform well are highly likely to secure a full time job in the company. Interns can work remotely from their university campus or homes.
Part time interns are expected to spend approximately 10 hours a week.
Full time interns are expected to spend 20 hours a week.
We can also assign a project based internship to students if their degree program entails one. Such candidates are required to possess sufficient working knowledge of data science so that they can complete a small project or task during their internship without undergoing training program at LFD.
Data Science is a high demand field internationally and interns are guaranteed to undergo valuable experience and learning in the field and future career prospects within and outside LFD.
Ideal candidate will have following profile:
- Education background in on of following Data Science, Applied Mathematics or Statistics, Business Analytics. Other Management/Economics/Computer Science Back grounds are also eligible provided they are willing to learn some new skills. Candidates may be given a comprehensive one to two months training program depending on their prior educational back ground and tenure of internship.
- Programming skills preferably in Python or R or both. Other relevant data science tools such as SAS, MATLAB, SPSSetc can be considered as well. Candidates without programming background will be considered if they excel at other skills and they shall be willing to learn basic programming in Python or R. LFD has an easy to follow and comprehensive training schedule.
- Good knowledge of statistical concepts. This has a high weightage in selection process.
- Understanding of Machine Learning algorithms or ability to learn them.
- Understanding of Business Analytics and how to apply data science and machine learning algorithms across various business domains.
- SQL and basic understanding and working knowledge of databases to be able to extract data from a database, store data into a database.
- Good communications and presentation skills are a must.
- Knowledge of Big Data tools such as Spark will be a plus.
