Office of Career Services (OCS) at University of Management and Technology (UMT) launched Innovation Champions Boot Camp and Club (ICBCC) under the umbrella of Human Capital Development Forum (HCDF)-A Think Tank in UMT Greens, South Block on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 3pm to 7pm.
The purpose of this event was to orient the participants about the importance of innovation in their careers and to create enabling the environment for them to realize the importance of Thinking through the platform of ICBCC.
Throughout the event participants aggressively registered themselves and showed their strong desire and passion to emerge as Champion of Innovation. Dr. Muhammad Aslam-Rector UMT grace the event with his presence. The event was also dignified by the worthy presence of key Industry players, Mr. Aamir Niazi-CEO Descon Oxychem, Mr. Nauman Majeed-CEO Style Textile, Ms. Samita Khawar- Director, Pakistan-Frost, and Sullivan, and Mr. Ch. Ejaz Ahmed-MD Haroon and Hussain Marketing Associates, to make the ceremony successful.
The gist of Innovation was delivered to the participants through a thought-provoking skit on the theme of “Flintstone to Jetsons/Innovation is everyone’s responsibility” in collaboration with UMT students from Dramatics Club. Participants were made enlightened about the importance of innovation in their careers through impactful performance.
A plaque signing ceremony was conducted where Dr. Hassan Sohaib Murad-Chairman ILM & BOG and Dr. Muhammad Aslam-Rector UMT endorsed ICBCC. Dr. Muhammad Aslam appreciated the efforts of OCS in upraising the importance of innovation in UMT’s learning culture. In addition to this, Mr. Aamir Niazi-CEO Descon Oxychem addressed the participants and expounded upon the “Futurism of commerce”. All the guests along with the Dr. Muhammad Aslam-Rector UMT visited stalls which were displayed by UMT participants from different schools/disciplines and appreciated students for their passion for creativity, learning, and innovation.

In addition to this, a stall was placed by BrainPlow-an International Technology Firm headquartered in Dallas, TX, USA. BrainPlow provided opportunities to the participants related to incubation, Brood In-House and Community Startups and Products in Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, iOT, Bleeding-Edge Web and Mobile Technologies whereby participants were facilitated by jobs, internships and funding opportunities at BrainPlow and they learned about the future in the world of innovation.
Wave of innovation and creativity was created with enthusiasm in the campus through ICBCC Cyclists and Promoters and participants expressed their creativity through hand impressions on TABULARASA. The ceremony was closed with the vote of thanks by Mr. Khalid Naqi-Chief Project Lead and Advisor-Human Capital Development Forum (HCDF)-A Think Tank, Director Career Services whereby he briefed the stakeholders about the rationale behind ICBCC and aware the participants about the importance of innovation in their careers.
The interview of Worthy Rector and key industry players were also conducted where they expressed their thoughts about their experience at ICBCC Mega Launch at UMT and endorsed the event with their exceptional thoughts.
The event was thoroughly enjoyed by participants and it enhanced their passion to enlighten their careers with the power of innovation.
